Update: PTO Online (sp?) Chat

Posted by Irene Soto at 9:48 pm under Events, Patent.

A few weeks ago I wrote about the PTO’s Independent Inventor Online Chat. The transcript is now available here.  Of the hundreds of questions received, I’m delighted to see that mine was selected for posting because the PTO “believed [it] would be of interest to others besides the author of the question.”  Sadly, I’m not so sure that’s true.

On another note, the PTO seems to be having some spelling difficulty: “online” or “on-line” or “on line”?  See below:

Finally, I’d like to amend my vote for favorite question to this:

FYI - I tried to search all 225 patents granted for interactive television and was only able to retrieve the first 50, an error/truncated messge followed…can you fix this so that we can review the remaining 175?

patience, we will answer your question in our transcript to be posted in about 2 weeks on the homepage, www.uspto.gov

Given the answer, the author’s username is hilarious.  But the answer itself is even better.  Not only is the answer to “Patience’s” question not posted yet, but he must also wait for it.  Waiting two weeks for a nonresponsive answer to a simple inquiry.  Typical?  Perhaps.
